Facing serial setbacks of some TDP leaders of Telangana region deserting the party, party president N Chandrababu Naidu started efforts to prevent the exodus after Erraballi Dayakar Rao sent his resignation from party’s Telangana Form convener’s post.
Apparently on directions from party supremo, senior leader Revuri Prakash Reddy was also trying to contact Erraballi to prevent him from quitting the party. Rumors are doing rounds that Erraballi may quit the party and joining the Congress.
Erraballi submitted his resignation from the post of TDP Telangana Forum convener and sent it by fax. Erraballi might decide his future course of action after holding a meeting with his supporters and well-wishers. Rumors of Erraballi switching his loyalty to Congress emanated after he met AICC leader in-charge of AP Affairs Digvijay Singh recently.
It may be mentioned here that some TDP Telangana leaders like Mahender Reddy, K S Ratnam, Satyavathi Rathod and others have already joined the TRS. Sources said Erraballi was demanding the party president to set up a special committee for Telangana and was unhappy as there was no proper response from the party supremo.
According to sources, Chandrababu Naidu is now thinking of setting up a special committee for Telangana region. (NSS)
