Erection of status on Tank Bund condemned

During the million march last year, the agitated supporters of Telangana had expressed their anger against the Andhra rulers and they had destroyed the statues on the tank bund. If the Govt. takes a decision to erect them again, it would amount to hurt their sentiments. It was told by Mr. Gaddar, the revolutionary poet at a press conference held yesterday at press club. The meeting was organized by the supporters of Telangana movement and the organizations like Telangana Vidya danthula Veduika, Telangana Journalists’ Forum etc. He expressed his extreme wrath on the decision taken by the Govt. to restore the damaged statues on Tank Bund. He told that more than 900 students have scarified their lives for the cause of Telangana and many supporters of Telangana have been involved in fake police cases. Andhra rulers have been exploiting the resources of Telangana. They have failed to control Seema Andhra leaders. It was the duty of the State Govt. to honor the sentiments of the people of Telangana.

He said that in the name of beautification of the city in connection with Biodiversity conference, Govt. is trying to erect these statuses, which is nothing but these statuses, which is nothing but the appeasement of Seema Andhra leaders. It is certainly an attempt to irritate and incite the people of Telangana. He warned the Govt. to remove the already erected four statues and refrain from installing the other states.

He told that Chief Minister belongs to all the three regions of the State. If he tries to please the people of Seema Andhra, the hatred of the people of Telangana for the people of Seema Andhra will aggravate further.

Mr. Veda Kumar, Vice President of Telangana Praja Front also demanded to remove the already installed statues of Andhra luminaries.
