Erasu refutes reports over differences between CM, PCC chief

Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy on Saturday dismissed media reports which claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana were having differences over the selection of candidates for the by-elections.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, he said that the media was intentionally carrying a malicious campaign against the government and the Congress party to damage their image among public. He alleged that the media launched Gobble’s campaign to get political mileage over the differences between the chief minister and the PCC chief.

Claiming that no differences exist between the Chief Minister and PCC chief, he said both were taking decisions collectively and in a cordial atmosphere. Stating that the process for selection of aspirants for by-elections has been going on smoothly, he advised media not to publish baseless stories to create sensationalism.

Erasu condemned Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party for slamming the government on the implementation of welfare programmes. He said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was committed to implement all welfare schemes for the benefit of poor despite financial constraints.

Despite criticism against the government, he said that the people, who benefited with the schemes and programmes, would elect the Congress candidates in the ensuing by-elections. (INN)
