Erasu refutes ex-judge’s charges in cash-for-bail case

Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy on Tuesday took serious note on the comments of suspended judge K Lakshmi Narasimha Rao linking his name to the cash-for-bail scam relating to former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy.

Talking to media persons at the State Secretariat, Pratap Reddy dismissed the allegations leveled by judge Lakshmi Narasimha Rao and said that there was no truth in the allegations. He alleged that the former judge has brought disrepute to the legal profession by involving in corrupt deeds. Prathap Reddy said that he was ready for any kind of investigation if the ACB comes with proper evidence against him in connection with the case.

The Minister said that Lakshmi Narasimha Rao named him as part of conspiracy that he hatched with a section of corrupt people. “If I’m proved guilty, then people can stone me in full public view,” he said.

It may be recalled that Lakshmi Narasimha Rao alleged that he was being implicated in the case in order to shield Minister for Law and Courts Erasu Prathap Reddy and wrote letters to the State Human Rights Commission, Supreme Court and High Court judges from the Chanchalguda Jail.
