“Eradication of violence against women” – Awareness program in MANUU held

Hyderabad: Center for Women’s Studies of Maulana Azad National Urdu University organized a 16-day awareness program on “Eradication of violence against women”. On 10th December, “Human Rights Day” was celebrated. Center for Women’s Studies organized several programs. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Pro-VC of MANUU released posters on 25th November and highlighted the importance of awareness program. These posters were put up at various places on the campus of Urdu University. Information brochures were distributed among the students.

Dr. Ameena Tehseen, Director, Women’s Studies highlighted the rights of women and the problems women’s are facing. She visited various departments of the university.

In collaboration with Samhita organization an extension lecture was held on 8th December at Community Center, Borabanda. Ms. Jaleesa Sultana Yaseen, Advocate, Organizing Secretary of Muslim Women’s Intellectual Forum of Hyderabad and Ms. Tasneem Johar, former Principal, Priya Darshini Public School, Malakpet and a noted poetess participated in the program as guests of honour. Ms. Rafia Nausheen, Coordinator, Samhita conducted the meeting.

At Urdu University Campus, Lucknow an extension lecture was held which was addressed by the teachers of the University. Mr. Vipin Kumar Mishra, IPS was the Chief Guest of this program.
