Er Rasheed to leave Pakistan for roundtable on Kashmir ‘dispute’ tomorrow

Kashmir :Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) president Engineer Rashid will be leaving for Pakistan on Sunday to attend a two-day roundtable conference on J&K “dispute”.

AIP spokesman Inam-un-Nabi in a statement issued here on Saturday said the party’s executive council, which met at the party headquarters, decided to accept the invitation after long deliberations.

“It was unanimously felt that Kashmiris being principal party to the dispute and victims of conflict should not waste any opportunity to put forward their views before India, Pakistan or the world community, and as such party accepts the invitation with due respect and honour,” the spokesman added.

He further added that during his visit, Er. Rasheed would hold deliberations with various political organisations and different sections of the society over various aspects of Kashmir problem.

Earlier, commenting on Pakistan’s invitation to Hurriyat leaders for consultations before the talks, former chief minister Farooq Abdullah said, “Not just Hurriyat, but they should have called representatives of all parties, including the BJP, only then the roundtable will be meaningful. If they hear argument of only one side, it won’t be much helpful.” (ANI)
