The State government will offer media awards to journalists, photographers, videographers for coverage of flagship Mission Kakatiya program. Last date for entries comprising news in print and electronic media from January 1 to December 31, 2017, for Mission Kakatiya Media awards is January 31. Media awards will be offered to the journalists for extensive coverage with stories, analysis and special stories on the flagship Mission Kakatiya program completed its third year. They should send their news items, video clippings on the wide coverage of the lakes revival scheme and its impact on public in rural pockets.
This was informed by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao. In a release, Sridhar Deshpande, OSD of the minister, said the government will honor the journalists in a fitting manner for the best coverage of the Mission Kakatiya program, which was reviving the rural economy in a big way.
Three categories of awards will be given to journalists, including Rs 1 lakh for first prize, Rs 75,000 for second prize and Rs 50,000 for third prize, he said. At five news clippings should be sent by journalists of newspapers, electronic and online media, videographers and photographers he said. Research, documentary and short films will also be considered for the awards. Entries with originals and copies should be sent to Sridhar Deshpande, OSD, Irrigation department, D Block Ground Floor, Secretariat, Hyderabad by Jan 31, he said.(NSS)
