Entrepreneurs ‘Unbox’ at the 2018 EO South Asia Leadership Conference

Mumbai: Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), the world’s leading peer-to-peer network of successful business owners, brought together over 200 member entrepreneurs from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka at the 2018 EO South Asia Leadership Conference (SALC) that took place in Mumbai. Leadership teams that work to deliver member value have come together at the EO SALC to plan the year ahead, build connections and share.

This year, the theme of the conference was ‘Unbox’. In addition to learning, it is also focused on enhancing the reach and impact of EO programs such as the EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA), EO Accelerator and EO CARES, each of which helps support the next wave of entrepreneurs.

Global leaders in attendance at the EO SALC this year included Rosemarie “Bubu” Andres, EO Global Chair; Brian Brault, Outgoing EO Global Chair and Carrie Santos, CEO of EO.

Abhay Mehta, Regional Chair, EO South Asia, said, “Entrepreneurship across South Asia is on a high growth curve and we see that reflected in the way our membership has grown within the region as well. Over the past five years, EO has doubled its chapter presence to 22 chapters and 1500+ members across the four South Asian countries. Our mission is to engage leading entrepreneurs to learn and grow and conferences like this allow members to learn something new, absorb fresh perspectives and make real-world connections.”

Karan Bhatia, Growth Director, EO South Asia further elaborated on the impact EO brings to the region, “Learning and growth is not just an internalized concept at EO. We also encourage our members to provide mentorship and support through various global and regional programs. EO CARES is a great example of this in action. A program launched by our Bengaluru chapter, it is aimed to give back to the entrepreneurial community by identifying, mentoring, nurturing and possibly investing in the latest ideas and innovations. We hope to scale this and the EO Accelerator program to more chapters in the region over the course of the year.”

Sanjay Jhunjhunwala, Member Experience Director, EO South Asia said, “EO SALC has proven to be extremely useful in building stronger bridges between members across the region. We have several global events every year and regional conferences like this add to the momentum we already have going. As a network for entrepreneurs, by entrepreneurs, EO offers members the opportunity to truly own their EO experience. The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Unbox’ and our aim was to create an opportunity for our members to open up to new ideas and share chapter best practices which allow everyone to contribute to an improved EO experience.” (ANI)
