Special Secretary of Telangana Minorities Welfare Department Syed Omer Jaleel on Friday announced that entire records of Wakf properties across Telangana State would be made available soon.
Speaking to media person after assuming charge in the D-Block of State Secretariat here, Omer Jaleel said that the computerisation of Wakf records has been completed and after cross-verification, they will be made available online. He said this would bring more transparence and ensure protection of Wakf properties in the State.
Omer Jaleel has also convened a video-conference with all the District Minority Welfare Officers and Executive Directors of Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation on Saturday to review the status of implementation of welfare schemes for the minorities. He said, so far, about 1993 applications have been received under Shaadi Mubarak scheme. Of them, nearly 600 applications have been approved. He said all DMWOs would be given a target for the effective implementation of Shaadi Mubarak scheme. He also hinted at further modification in Shaadi Mubarak guidelines and said an alternate to birth certificate is being considered.
Omer Jaleel admitted that shortage of staff was affecting the functions of minorities’ welfare departments and therefore, the State Government would be urged to permit for direct appointments of personnel for the department, instead of relying on deputations.
He also informed that the banks would be pressurised to provide loans to jobless youth. He said that status of loan applications pending/rejected by various banks would be placed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and he would be requested to exhort the State-level Bankers Committee to clear those applications at the earliest. He also said that the benefits of several Central Government schemes would be extended to the minorities’ youth in Telangana State.
