Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed the officials to complete the projects as per schedule to irrigate every acre.
At a high-level review meeting, he said that Ellampally Dry run should be conducted by June end and modernization of SRSP by July and Mid Manair completion by June 2017.
Along with Finance Minister, E Rajender and legislator G Kamalakar and others, Harish Rao participated in some developmental programs of Nagunur bridge, checkdam, mini tank bund at Kothapalli in Karimnagar district. He slammed the Congress for making statements for political mileage against the projects. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted to redesign them to ensure that the irrigation facility can be increased to manifold, he said, adding that the Opposition is afraid of losing their ground on completion of the projects.
Expressing displeasure at the tardy pace of works of SRSP project, Harish Rao asked the officials to avoid negligence to focus on to reach its target of irrigating 9 lakh acres. Since Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is seeking minute details of the projects, the officials should complete them effectively before the deadline, he said. He asked the officials to work more effectively to conduct dry run for Medaram and Gangadhara areas under Sripadasagar and Ellampally project to irrigate 65,000 acres by month end. Land acquisition for Totapally link canal and reservoir be expedited besides acquiring 1800 acres at Gauravelli, 853 acres at Gandipalli in 15 days and 45000 acres for Kaleshwaram Lift project in coordination with forest wing.
