Hyderabad, December 18: CPI, MP Mr. Syed Aziz Pasha, addressing a press conference at his residence in New Delhi deplored the damage caused to Wakf properties in the country and said that this has happened due to negligence of Government. He also presented the statistics of the properties damaged.
He told that in AP many properties have been illegally occupied by land grabbers. A rough estimate of such properties works to nearly Rs.1.2 Lakh Crore. These properties have been usurped in two ways, one on which complete possession has been taken and the other from which Wakf Board does not get any income. He also said that some of the illegal occupants pay a nominal rent whereas the value of such properties is in several lakhs. In both the cases the situation is regrettable.
At the end of his press conference, Mr. Aziz Pasha demanded the government to ensure the protection of Wakf properties. He said that Communist Party of India has been struggling for the security of Wakf properties.
