Ensure India’s image doesn’t sink lower: RJD to PM

Patna, Oct.19 : In the wake of Shiv Sena’s protest at the BCCI Headquarters, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done enough lower the image of India in the past and must ensure it does not sink any further.

“Shiv Sena is a goon like structure that can destruct the peaceful environment. It is a time for Prime Minister Modi to put his moratorium on these organizations like Shiv Sena,” RJD national spokesperson Manoj Jha told ANI here.

” Everyone wants India should not compromise but there is decorum. Shiv Sena is reducing India’s level,” he added.

Following Shiv Sena’s protest at the BCCI Headquarters, the discussion over reviving cricket ties between the two nations has been cancelled.

The Shiv Sainiks had earlier stormed into the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) office to protest against the meeting with the Pakistan Cricket board to discuss the India-Pakistan bilateral series slated for December.

The Shiv Sainiks charged into the office chanting ‘vande matram’ and slogans against PCB chief Shahryar Khan.

They cornered BCCI president Shashank Manohar and protested saying they will not allow any cricket ties with Pakistan.

The BJP ally had earlier attacked Sudheendra Kulkarni, who heads the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) Mumbai division, ahead of a book launch of former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri.

Earlier this month, Pakistani Ghazal maestro Ghulam Ali concert was also cancelled in Mumbai and Pune after Shiv Sena threatened to disrupt it. Following threats from Sena, the organisers had cancelled the concert. (ANI)
