One of the two committees appointed to probe into the scam of A.P. State Minorities Finance Corporation has presented its enquiry report. The other enquiry committee, consisting of auditors is still continuing its investigations. It is in the final stage. It is expected that the team of auditors would submit its report to the Govt. till 10th November. Joint Secretary of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Ms. Parveen Baig and the Convener the Enquiry Committees, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Ghafoor will examine these reports and submit a comprehensive report along with their recommendations to the Govt.
It is reported that the Enquiry Committee consisting of the officers of Social Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare Departments has identified irregularities in the release of scholarships and recommended to entrust this job to the Dept. of Social Welfare.
Govt. issued orders on 20th October to entrust the job of sanctioning scholarships to Dept.of Social Welfare.
It is reported that the corporation has Rs.80 to Rs.85 crore available with it. Govt. would release additional funds after spending this amount. Mr. Dana Kishore, Secretary, Minorities Welfare Departments had sought information in the last meeting about the progress of investigations.
