The work of translation of Arabic books of modern studies into English will begin soon in world renowned Daeratul Ma’arif. Union Ministry for Minority Affairs has sanctioned the project under ‘Hamari Dharowar’ scheme (A scheme to Preserve Rich Heritage of Minority Communities of India under the Overall Concept of Indian Culture). Centre has earmarked Rs. 37.7 Cr. for the scheme and released 2.80 Cr out of 7 Cr.
It has been decided to hire the services of expert translators from across the country to translate Arabic books and rare manuscripts into English. There is dearth of Arabic to English translators in Hyderabad hence it has been decided to hire people from other parts of the country.
This is the first time in the history of Daeratul Ma’arif that such a huge amount has been sanctioned for any project. The project after completion will help preserve the rare manuscripts and pass on the knowledge to public.
