Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Wednesday informed the Telangana Legislative Assembly that the State Government was considering introduction of English as medium of instructions across government schools in the State.
Replying to a question raised by MLA D Manohar Reddy and others during Question Hour, the minister said that the government has already introduced English as medium of instruction in 2,612 schools. They include 2,217 Success Schools (Parallel sections of English medium in the identified Govt/ZP High Schools); 174 Model Schools; 64 TSREIS (General); 122 TSSWREIS (Social Welfare) and 35 TSTWREIS (Gurukulam).
However, the minister did not specify the time by when the English will be introduced as medium of instruction in all government schools.
