England: Church shutdown to let birdies family rest in peace

London: Caring for young birdies is adorable, but a church in Sourton village of England closed the doors to church for two weeks when he found a pair of blue tits nesting in the vicar’s lectern according to Daily Mail.

The church will remain closed for two weeks, and the bells and organ were also silenced when the maintenance man at St Thomas à Becket church discovered 8 adorable hatched chicks inside.

The church closed so that it could give peacetime to the young family of 10 birdies until they are ready to fly off on their own.

“Services were conducted by the Rev Adrian Brooks without the organ being played as it was too close to the lectern and they didn’t want to disturb the bird,” said a local wildlife photographer Colin Sargent.

Adding that, “The birds have now all left safely and it is a story with a happy ending as it was a big worry about how they would be able to get out the church.”
