Dehra Dun, January 18: An engineering student allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a gorge at Malsi Deer Park area, police said today. The incident took place yesterday when Gaurav Dharmsattu (19), a first-year student at a private engineering college here, came out of the hostel on the pretext that he was going to charge his mobile phone and jumped into the gorge.
The victim”s friends told police that Dharmsattu was under depression for sometime over his studies and this might be the reason behind his decision to take the extreme step. Dharmsattu was a resident of Nainital.
