State commissioner of technical education Mr. Ajay Jain rebuffed the reports telecast on some TV channels regarding the suspension of inspections of engineering colleges and clarified that the college administrations had sought break of two weeks and the inspection will be carried out as soon as the time given elapses.
The inspections will be held as per the directions of high court and GOs of the higher education department and task force team will submit a report to the high court. The task force would determine whether tech colleges in the state are eligible to charge fees higher than Rs 35,000.
Task force officials said that while a total of 689 engineering colleges were supposed to have uploaded on the internet information regarding the facilities being offered to students, only 368 of them have submitted the same.
