Hyderabad, April 10: Anti-Corruption bureau officials today unearthed assets worth over Rs 1.5 crore belonging to an engineer in Anantapur district.
Searches were conducted at the office, residence and other premises of Deputy Executive Engineer Shaikh Kaleemullah following which the assets were unearthed, an ACB release said.
The assets include one shopping complex and two houses besides 20 plots in Anantapur and Tadipatri. “The searches also yielded insurance polices worth Rs 13.5 lakh, 60 tolas of gold and Rs 45,000 cash,” the officials said.
Meanwhile, in a similar case Thaharunnisa Begum, a senior assistant at the office of Tahsildar, Rompicherla in Guntur district was convicted by special judge for sPE & ACB cases, Vijayawada. Thaharunnisa was trapped by the officials of ACB for demanding and accepting Rs 1,250 for issuing a urban land ceiling clearance certificate.
