Kokrajhar, October 21: Assam police today said that Andhra Pradesh engineer P Krishna Rao was kidnapped by NDFB militants and all possibilities are being explored to secure his release.
“We have established that the kidnapping was the handiwork of anti-talk faction of NDFB. We are exploring all possibilities to get Rao released,” Kokrajhar superintendent of police P K Dutta said.
Dutta, however, said he has no idea if the outfit has contacted the family members of Rao, who hails from Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, or about reports that his friends have arrived here from Hyderabad to negotiate his release.
The 53-year old project manager with Gayatri PCI (JB) was kidnapped on October 16 by five heavily armed militants from a construction site on National Highway 31 at Joypur under Kokrajhar police station.
