Engg Colleges Seat Allotment Process– First Phase Ends

The first phase of allotment of seats to Engineering colleges in the State has been completed. While 1,36,000 students were allotted seats in different colleges, more than a lakh seats in convenor quota were still vacant.

According to Mr Ajay Jain, Commissioner, Technical Education Department, SMSs were sent to the students concerned and they have to report to the respective colleges by September 20. The second phase of counseling will be held from September 26 to 29. In category A, out of a total of 2,34,765 seats, only 1,00,932 seats remained vacant.

In six colleges, not a single seat was filled-in. In 18 colleges, less than five seats each were filled-in. In eight colleges, less than ten seats each were filled-in. In another 8 colleges, less than 15 seats each were filled-in. In 13 colleges, less than 20 seats were filled-in and in 14 colleges, less than 25 seats were filled-in. (NSS)
