Eng-Pak Oval ODI was fixed: Report

Mumbai, September 18: Another Match-fixing scam unearthed in the ongoing ODI series between England and Pakistan.

A leading British daily exposed the fixing scam during Oval ODI on Friday. The daily claimed that bookies knew the of Pakistan innings total before the match.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has ordered probe into the alleged fixing of Oval ODI, in which Pakistan defeated England by 23 runs. ICC feared that the two overs of the match were fixed.

The English daily ‘The Sun’ claimed that the run rate of the Pakistan innings was fixed and players were paid by the Dubai-based bookies.

The daily revealed that fixers knew of Pakistani innings before the match. The British police have taken the report from the daily and started investigation into the allegations.

However, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ijaz Butt refused to act against the players without solid proof.

Butt said that all these allegations are untrue and no action would be taken without concrete evidence.
