Energy crisis will be solved within one week: CM

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday called upon the officials of power utilities not to compromise on seven hours supply of power to the farmers anytime.

Talking to media persons after participating as chief guest in the Indiramma Baata at Deepagunta in Goppadu mandal in Kurnool district, Kiran Kumar Reddy instructed the power officials to fulfill seven hours supply of qualitative power to farmers at any cost. Reiterating that the government was taking all necessary steps to tide over the energy crisis in the state, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the government would solve the crisis within a week.

Stating that the government was taking all steps to help the farmers, he said that the government would fully pay the interest of those farmers, who took below Rs 1 lakh loan from banks. He said that the government decision would benefit about 95 lakh farmers in the State. He also stated that the government would bear 50 percent subsidy on the tools purchased by the farmers for farming purpose.

The Chief Minister said that the government would launch one or two regional study centres in each region exclusively for minorities. He also said that salary enhancement for Imams and Mouzams would be considered. Top priority for minorities would be given during implementation of housing and Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu schemes, he said.

Responding to High Court’s verdict on the local body elections, he said that the government was ready to conduct elections within three months as per the court orders. In the elections, he said that the government would reserve 50 percent of seats for women.
