(Siasat News)Central Power Distribution Corporation of A.P. has made a proposal through to all the four power distribution corporations to A.P. Electricity Regulatory Authority of A.P. Electricity to impose restrictions on major units under the Electricity Act of 2003. The demand for electricity in the State has increased. At present 202 million-unit powers is being supplied as against the demand of 276 million units. In this way, there is a shortage of 72 million units per day.

Generation of electricity is being hampered due to the slow flow of water in reservoirs.
It is, therefore, necessary to impose a ban on major units consuming electricity.

Some customers of electricity will be given exemptions from these restrictions
