Enemies seek to cause tension in Iran’s elections

Iran’s Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi has cautioned against plots by the enemies of the Islamic Revolution, saying the adversary powers intend to cause tension and crisis in the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to reliable information, enemies seek to cause tension in the way of elections in Iran; this enhances the importance of vigilance of Iranian officials and nation in dealing with security issues, Moslehi said on Wednesday.

He emphasized that a mass participation of the Iranian people in elections would defeat enemies and reinforce unity and convergence in the nation.

The minister stated that the sworn enemies of Islam and the Islamic Revolution have been united to take the opportunity of elections and try to counter the ideals of the Islamic establishment.

We should remain vigilant to thwart the enemies’ plots, Moslehi reiterated.

In January, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the vote is a manifestation of the people’s presence in the political decision-making process.

The Leader added that hegemonic powers and their pawns have been attempting to reduce the participation of Iranians in the elections, but the mass turnout of the nation will frustrate the enemy.
