‘End suspense on tie-up with Congress’

Hyderabad, June 13: TDP Rajya Sabha member Nandamuri Harikrishna wanted Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president K Chiranjeevi to end the suspense whether he would forge an electoral alliance with Congress or it would be merged with the ruling party.

In an open letter to Chiranjeevi today, Harikrishna said that 22-month-old PRP without having political knowledge cannot criticise TDP’s policies.

“PRP leadership should come out of the illusion on politics and start some constructive work,’’ Harikrishna advised.

Harikrishna’s outburst against Chiranjeevi was a reaction to PRP chief ’s recent open letter to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu.

Harikrishna said that the PRP boat capsized and its leaders were joining the TDP one after the other. This was the reason behind Chiranjeevi’s criticism against Naidu. “PRP chief is making allegations against TDP out of despondency,’’ Harikrishna observed.

Harikrishna wondered why the PRP leadership did not take the opinion of the people before forging an alliance with the Congress or considering the proposal to merge the party with the Congress.

Chiranjeevi who once claimed that PRP was an alternative to the Congress, was now trying to forge an alliance with the party for political survival. Harikrishna alleged that Chiranjeevi remained as a person who pledged the self-respect of Andhras before 10 Janpath by sailing with the Congress.
