End subsidy for people of all religions too: Muslim bodies

New Delhi: People belonging to various Muslim organisations, said that Modi government has conceded to a long pending demand of Muslims but it should prove its claim of empowerment without appeasement by ending subsidy for people of other religions as well. The Muslim organisations also demanded that a global tender should also be invited to avail cheapest air service. They also demanded to end the loot in Saudi Arabia in the name of accommodation and transport system.

Maulana Khaleelur Rahman, spokesman of All India Muslim Personal Law Board said the benefit of Hajj subsidy was derived by Air India alone.

General Secretary, Jamat-e-Islami Hindi Engineer Mohammed Saleem said government gives facilities to people going for Mansarovar yatra, Kumbh Mela and to Sikh brothers going to Pakistan. He said if government doesn’t believe in appeasement then it should end the subsidy given to other religions as well.

Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari said it was the long pending demand of Muslims to end Hajj subsidy but government is unnecessarily trying to give it political color.

MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi also said if the government is giving the slogan of empowerment of minorities without appeasement it should end subsidy given to other religions as well.
