PATNA: Bringing down curtains to Mahagathbandhan, Nitish Kumar resigns as Bihar Chief Minister on Wednesday.
The decision to quit was taken after RJD chief Lalu Prasad ruled out resignation by his son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav from the post of Bihar’s Deputy CM post. CNN-News18 confirmed the resignation report.
Prasad and Kumar are known as ‘Bade Bhai’ (Lalu) and ‘Chote Bhai’ (Nitish) in the political circle .”We keep talking often. Last night also, I had a talk with Nitish Kumar,” Prasad said.

Minutes later, Tejashwi told CNN-News18, “This is a conspiracy not just against me and the party, but against the people of Bihar. The Mahagathbandhan continues to be strong. The people will answer the BJP,” the deputy CM.
“The BJP is trying to destabilise governments in non-BJP states. The Mahagathbandhan is strong and will continue to be so,” he said.
The two bigwigs, Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav, had been at loggerheads ever since the CBI booked Lalu’s son over corruption charges.
