Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today said the ultimate aim of Grama Jyothi program was to transform every village as that of Gangadevipally in Warangal district.
Launching the Grama Jyothi scheme at Shivvampet in Medak district, Harish Rao appealed to the people to emulate Gangadevipally village that has created records of sorts. “Now we dream of making every village to become Gangadevipally in terms of getting basic amenities, clean environment and proper plan for future growth,” he stated.
Harish Rao said every village will get all facilities and get rid of their problems if the people come together. This is the time for combined efforts through committees for achieving all-round development of the villages, he noted. He stressed the need for completing the works based on needs. The government will provide funds to the villages and the people should take steps to go along with people’s representatives and officials, he said. “We need to focus on sanitation, water, power, toilets and road connectivity and others”, he added.(NSS)
