Mumbai: “Azhar”, the upcoming biopic on former Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin, will have kissing and romantic scenes, actor Emraan Hashmi has said.
“Azhar”, being directed by Tony D’Souza, is based on the career and personal life of Azharuddin who was allegedly involved in a match-fixing scandal in 2000.
“In biopics, people kiss and I am sure Azhar also had kissed. In fact, biopics lend themselves more into that. Kissing scenes are there in the movie. We will compensate (for not having kissing scenes in his new music video)…(sic),” Emraan told reporters here at the launch of his single “Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon”.
Emraan, 36, is sporting a clean-shaven look for the film.
“I clean shaved after 15 years. Besides, my cricketing skills are improved now. Azhar bhai has been coaching me,” the actor said.
Azharuddin captained the Indian cricket team for much of the 1990s.
The former sportsman, whose personal life has always been under media glare, was first married Naureen with two sons before divorcing her after nine years.
He then wed model-actor Sangeeta Bijlani in 1996. The couple separated in 2010.
Azhar’s son Ayazuddin, aged 19, died in a road accident in 2011.
