Hyderabad: Women are offering their services at international levels by occupying higher positions. They are part of policy making bodies. This was possible only through education. Only through education, self sufficiency and empowerment could be obtained. These thoughts were expressed by Dr. Somiya Mishra, IPS, IGP (CID), Telangana while addressing a program on the “Self-Defence Training Program for Women” organized by Center for Women’s Studies of Maulana Azad National Urdu University and Hapkido Federation India yesterday.
Dr. Mishra told that after seeing the environment of MANUU her expectations have increased. She told the students not to waste any opportunity for acquiring education. Acquisition of Education and Training is not a one day affair, it is a continuous process. One should enhance his/her skills always. She told the girls to strengthen the level of their self confidence. This will end their helplessness.
Highlighting the importance of Hapkido which is a kind of martial arts, she told that it is essential for strengthen body and mind. She advised the students to set a goal and stick to it. They should get an important position through education and then others. She also told that women should come out of their negative stereotype mentality. Only then they can excel in various fields. Although women have equal status with men but more women should come forward for the constitution of equitable society. Ms. Syeda Falak, international fame Karate Champion of Hyderabad was the Chief Guest of this function. Dr. Ameena Tehsin, Director of Center for Women’s Studies welcomed the guests.
