Dubai, July 24: Dubai residents have been warned against hiring illegal immigrants. Those who violate the law will have to face grave consequences, said officials.
Major Saeed Suhail Al Ayyali, Acting Director of the Dubai Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID), told Gulf News offenders of the labour recruitment rules, especially with regard to illegal recruitment practices, will be liable.
“Police found that the category of illegal workers comes top on the lists of theft crimes in the country and hence we urge all members of the public to be fully aware of the danger of recruiting this kind of cheap but dangerous labour,” Major Al Ayyali was quoted by the daily.
Employers often hire illegal workers as they come cheaper and recruiters do not need to pay the reguar fees or do any paperwork. However, it is dangerous to do so and such employers could face tough punishment.
