Employees union of NPCC allege wage discrepancy

New Delhi, December 21: Alleging discrepancy in wages as compared to senior officers, employee unions of National Project Construction Corporation today handed over a memorandum to the government demanding a tripartite meeting to resolve the issue.

National Projects Construction Corporation was set up as a premier construction company under the Ministry of Water Resources to create necessary infrastructure for economic development.

In the memorandum given to Union water resources minister Pawan Bansal, representatives of five employee unions claimed that while employees receive wages based on 1989 pay scale, salaries of senior officers including the CMD are paid under pay scales revised in 1997.

They alleged that a recent wage revision announced by the management was more of a wage deduction exercise.

Demanding withdrawal of the wage revision notification, they demanded holding of tripartite talks between the unions, management and the Ministry.
