Emphasis laid on establishing a monument of Dr. Abid Hussain in Hyderabad

(Siasat News) The sad demise of Dr. Syed Abid Hussain is not only the loss of Hyderabad but it is also a great loss of the entire country. India lost its able diplomat, writer, speaker and thinker. These thoughts were expressed by many speakers who paid homage to Dr. Abid Hussain in a condolence meeting held at Moulana Abul Kalam Azad Oriental Research Institute, Public Garden, Hyderabad yesterday. Dr. Vasant Kumar Bawa presided over the meeting. Those who participated in the meeting were Allama Ajaz Farukh, Mr. P. Narsa Reddy, Mr. Kamaluddin Ali Khan, Mr. Ghulam Yazdani, Advocate, Mr. Umapathi (IAS), Dr. Udesh Rani, Ms. Naseema Turabul Hasan, Dr. Shyam Sunder, Dr. Ram Pershad, Mr. Vasudev Pillay, Dr. Gopalakrishna and many others.

Mr. Aslam Farshory conducted the meeting. The speakers of the condolence meeting demanded the Govt. to Institute a memorial in honour of this son of Hyderabad or name a road after him. Highlighting the various facts of his life, Allama Ajaz Faruk said the Dr. Abid Hussian’s life was full of activities and struggles. He started his educational career from Ashraful Madaris School. Later, his father got him admitted in Chaderghat High School. He served as Collector of many districts. The peak of his career was his elevation as Ambassador of India in America. His career was spotless. He said that it is very surprising that a student of Urdu medium, Dr. Abid Hussain was made Chancellor of Hyderabad University and English and Foreign Languages University. Mr. Kamaluddin Ali Khan, Secretary of Abul Kalam Azad Oriental Research Institute described Dr. Abid Hussain as a very kind person. Dr. Ram Pershad denied, that he never used to address gatherings in Urdu. He said that Dr. Abid Hussain was an Urdu friendly and Urdu loving personality.

Dr. Udesh Rani declared him as the best administrator. She said that his Public and Welfare activities are unforgettable. Dr. Vasant Kumar Bawa , in his presidential address told that if persons like Dr. Abid Hussain enter into politics, many reforms in politics could have made possible. Dr. Bawa described Dr. Abid Hussain as a lively person with good moral character. Mr. Ghulam Yazdani, Advocate told that Dr. Abid Hussain had good relations with Nehru family. This family recognized his talents and gave him important assignments. Former Minister Mr. P. Narsa Reddy in his address told that he was a student of Nizam College. He had pleasing manners. He said that, had he been alive, he would have become Vice President of India. The present vice President of India has been Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University put Dr. Abid Hussain was the Chancellor of two great Universities.

The other guest speakers also paid rich tributes to Dr. Abid Hussain.
