Hyderabad, September 30: A passenger on the Hyderabad-bound Emirates Airlines was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly misbehaving with an air-hostess.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police said Biyad Khalsan (35), a native of Abu Dhabi, boarded a Hyderabad Emirates flight in Dubai on Monday night. But throughout the journey, Biyad Khalsan allegedly not only misbehaved with the air-hostess but also tried to outrage her modesty.
When the flight landed in Hyderabad, the air-hostess lodged a complaint at the RGIA airport with the help of the local Emirates staff.
“Immediately, the police nabbed Khalsan at the airport premises and he was questioned. Both the victim and the accused hail from Abu Dhabi,” RGIA sub-inspector Anjaiah told Express.
The accused came to Hyderabad to take medical treatment since he has relatives in Hyderabad. “He came to Hyderabad to consult a dentist and take the required medical treatment,” RGIA police said.
“We found it difficult to interrogate Khalsan, since he knows only Arabic.
During the interrogation, he agreed that he had misbehaved and tried to outrage the modesty of the air-hostess,” RGIA police added.
A case has been registered under Sec 354 (intending to outrage the modesty of woman), Sec 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Khalsan and he will be remandded in judicial custody on Wednesday.
