Hyderabad, April 13: Eminent personalities in various fields from the state were felicitated with the Sreeramanavami Pratibha Puraskaram for their outstanding and dedicated services by Sanatana Dharma Charitable Trust here today.
AP High Court Justice B Prakash Rao, who was the chief guest, congratulated the awardees and described them as a source of inspiration and called upon younger people to draw inspiration from them.
Those who were honoured with the awards are Vemula Kameswara Rao (senior artist), Dr J Hanumath Sastri (writer and researcher in Telugu literature), T Hanuman Chowdary (senior expert in telecommunications), CV Raja Gopala Rao (nationalist writer), Dr T Kutumba Rao (biographer and patriotic writer), Abburi Chayadevi (Telugu novelist and short story writer), T Janaki Rani (novelist and writer), Piratla Venkateshwarlu (nationalist and senior editor), Dr P Nageswara Rao (multi-linguist writer), Prof R Soma Reddy (historian and senior researcher), G Balakrishana Prasad(Carnatic classical vocalist) and Paranandi Nirmala (famous Hindi writer and translator).
The felicitation included an appreciation certificate from the trust and cash reward of Rs 25,000. Founder of the trust, Sadguru Shivananda Murthy said, “It is a tribute to honour such immense personalities.”
Earlier a book titled Sri Shiva Drishti, a Telugu translation and commentary of Sri Somanandanatha’s Sanskrit original by Pullela Srirama Chandrudu was released jointly by B Prakash Rao and Sadguru Sivananda Murthy.
