Emergency landing by Russian plane after bomb threat

Moscow, October 04: A Yak-42 plane with 73 passengers on board flying from Moscow to Chechen capital Grozny was forced to make an emergency landing after a bomb threat, an official said Sunday.

“The plane left Moscow for Grozny at 16.14 p.m. local time. Several minutes later it received an anonymous call threatening that the plane can be exploded,” a spokesman for the Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency said.

“The plane’s crew took a decision to make emergency landing in the city of Volgograd,” he said.

Bomb disposal experts are currently scouring the airliner for explosive devices.
