Embezzlement in Aneesul Ghurba, 2 staff members suspended

Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board suspended two staff members of Aneesul Ghurba on the charges of misappropriating the funds of poor orphan children. One of them includes Mir Akbar Ali a clerk who shifted two rice bags and meat to his house. The orphanage also suspended cashier Mohammed Ishaq.

Soon after the publication of report in Siasat, regarding embezzlement in Aneesul Ghurba, Waqf Board chairman Maulana Khusro Pasha, chief executive officer M A Hameed sprung into action and a team of waqf board led by CEO reached the orphanage on Saturday itself. Entire records including the receipts were seized and the almirahs were also sealed. The team seized a cash of Rs 12564. It was found that the amount was Rs 7604 extra than the amount mentioned in the records. The receipt issued did not contain Waqf Board stamp on them. Lakhs of rupees are believed to have been gone into the pockets and bank accounts of staff.

On the other hand it has also been revealed that the Waqf board collects 31 percent amount from Aneesul Ghurba under administrative rights. Interestingly the orphanage received 31 sheep during March 9 to 18. The businessmen of the surrounding shops informed that the meat is sold to a nearby meat shop.

If a comprehensive investigation is done into the matter many more faces of embezzlers are likely to come up.
