As various political parties are busy in finalizing candidates for the ensuing coming general elections, leaders of different political parties were trying to test their luck by joining “winning” parties.
West Godavari district’s Tadepalligudem Congress MLA Eli Nani today called on TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu at the latter’s residence on Wednesday. The meeting indicates that Nani is likely to defect to TDP. Tollywood comedian Venu Madhav also met the TDP president at his residence today. He is reported to have urged Naidu to give him a ticket for contesting Assembly seat.
After calling on the TDP chief, Venu Madhav said, “I can’t say anything now about my contesting elections. If I want to contest , I will contest from anywhere in the State because I have fans all over the State. The TDP chief would take a decision about my contesting elections as I have been associated with the party for the last two decades”, he added.
Reacting to the new party Jana Sena launched by actor Pawan Kalyan, the comedian said he liked the aims and objectives of Pawan’s party and hoped that the TDP would support the Jana Sena party. (NSS)
