Hyderabad: After elevated metro rail, get ready for another public transport experience with the government planning to build an Elevated Bus Rapid Transit System (EBRTS) corridor from KPHB to Financial District in Gachibowli.
Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML), the special purpose vehicle formed to build metro up to the Shamshabad airport, is the facilitating agency to build this new public transport system to cater to the new growth regions in association with TS Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
Two firms namely RITES, a PSU of Indian Railways and Aarvee Associates participated in the tenders Request for Proposal (RFP) called by Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML) for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Elevated Bus Rapid Transit System (EBRTS) project.
After technical evaluation, both firms were found qualified and their financial bids were opened on Wednesday. While Aarvee Associates quoted Rs.106 lakh, RITES quoted Rs.129 lakh for preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR).
Based on the combined technical and financial score, Aarvee Associates was awarded the work for the preparation of DPR at its quoted rate of Rs.106 lakh, stated HAML, Managing Director N.V.S Reddy.
The firm has to submit the DPR for the project within three months, which includes alignment fixation, location of stations, traffic studies and ridership estimation, soil investigation, social and environmental impact assessment, financial model etc, he added.
