It is a nightmare for Andhra Pradesh residents as they are being charged triple this month for the same amount of power consumption thanks to the fuel surcharge adjustment. This decision of the state government to levy a fuel surcharge on electricity is pushing up electricity bills.
A social worker Syed Habeeb told that instead of thinking about other alternatives to compensate the surcharge, government is laying the burden on consumers’ shoulder.
According to a local resident, he received a bill of Rs 1931 for just 187 unit consumption, which is three times the actual bill.
