Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal today said the electors’ strength in 18 Assembly and one Parliament constituencies which would go the poll on June 12 has increased to 46,13,589 from 44,00,000. Addressing a press conference here, he said since the last publication of Photo Electoral Rolls from January 10, 2012, to May 25, 2012, 2,02,967 electors have been enrolled and 34,000 electors have been deleted. Mr Bhanwarlal said 210 centres are operational to give Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) free of cost in all the by-poll constituencies besides distribution of Voters’ Slip to all the voters at their door steps by the Booth Level Officers was underway and it will continue till June 6. He said apart from EPICs or Voters’ slip no other card as identity would be entertained at the polling stations and added that cent per cent EPICs have been distributed so far. The CEO said the situation in the poll-related districts was ‘peaceful’ and the campaign is going on without any hindrance. UNI
