ELECTION-MALEGAON Polling begins for Malegaon Municipal elections

Corporation (MMC) at 0730 today amid tight security arrangements.About 3,67,374 electorate are expected to exercise their franchise to decide the fate of 471 candidates who are in fray for 80 seats of the corporation in Malegaon.
The election is being supervised by 8 Returning Officers, 24 Assistant Returning Officers, 40 Zonal Officers and 2,700 booth employees led by Nashik Municipal Coporation (NMC) Commissioner Jeevan Sonawane. Voting will conclude at 0530 hours.
The 467 polling centres are established in 110 places in the town. About 144 polling centers are said to be sensitive,State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and Rapid Action Force (RAF)personnel have been deployed to ensure free and fair polling.
Good security arrangements have been made for free, fair and peaceful voting process and strict action will be taken
against anyone who breaks the law, Additional Police Superintendent Chandrashekhar Chaugule said.
The counting of votes will be held tomorrow at Shivaji Gymkhana, Jakodiya Bhavan, Shivaji town hall, Bhavani chowk and Marathi schools in Valmikinagar.
