Elderly man among five commits suicide

An 87-year-old man committed suicide by consuming some unknown poison.

According to Saroornagar police, the deceased, D Ranga Reddy, took the extreme step at his residence in Karmanghat on November 27 and died at the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday night. Ill-health is suspected to be the reason that led him to suicide.

In another case, 40-year-old P Krishna committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Gujarati Galli on Sunday night. According to Sultan Bazar police, Krishna was habituated to drinking liquor and took the extreme step in inebriated condition.

In a similar case, K Murali, 38, committed suicide by setting himself ablaze in inebriated condition. Murali, a painter, resorted to the extreme step on November 29 and died at the Osmania General Hospital on Sunday night, according to Narsingi police.

In a different case, a 32-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at her residence in Kameshwari Nagar in Saroornagar police limits. The deceased, VD Sangeetha, resorted to the extreme after having an argument over some trivial issue with her husband Vijay Kumar on Sunday night.

In the last case, K Raju, 26, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling allegedly due to financial problems. According to police, Raju, a driver, took the extreme step at his residence in Tirumulgherry. (INN)
