Various departments of Telangana Government would make elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of Ganesh festival in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Top officials, including GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy, HMWSSB Managing Director Dana Kishore and other senior officials from Police, Engineering, Irrigation and other departments discussed the arrangement in a coordination meeting held with the representatives of Bhagayanagar Utsav Samithi at GHMC Head Office on Wednesday.
The GHMC Commissioner explained the representatives of the Bhagayanagar Utsav Samithi said that the civic body was making elaborate arrangements on the entire route of Ganesh immersion procession. It includes works like repairing of roads, pot holes and water stagnation points, special LED lighting. Special Ganesh Action Teams would be deployed with one team for every 3-4 km of procession route. Another 20-member team would ensure proper coordination and guiding for smooth flow of the procession in a more appropriate way when compared to last year.
On the request of the representatives of Ganesh Utsav Samithi, it was decided that similar coordination meetings may also be arranged at ZC, DC, Police Station, division wise so that ground level staff and as well as the representatives would have proper coordination to take up the works relating to the Ganesh Immersion procession. They have also pointed out that some of the drainage works, road repairing works and other civic related works which have been taken up long back have not been completed.
Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy informed that besides regular surveillance, this time every crane would be equipped with a CCTV Camera. He said that the entire procession would be monitored from a control room which would get feed from all CCTV cameras in the city.
Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin said that the GHMC, HMWS&SB, Police Department and other connected departments were making elaborate arrangements for the ensuing Ganesh and Bakrid festivals and requested the representatives to have proper coordination with the officials for smooth conduct of the festivals.
