State Election Commissioner V. Nagi Reddy said that all elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful conduct of forthcoming GHMC elections.
The SEC, on Wednesday, held a special meeting along with senior police officials for the Bandobasth and other arrangements for the ensuing GHMC elections.
Municipal Administration & Urban Development Principal Secretary M.G. Gopal, GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer Dr. B. Janardharn Reddy, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C. V. Anand and other senior officials, including heads of the departments, participated in the meeting.
While interacting with the officials, Nagi Reddy asked them to ensure that elections are held in a free and fair manner without causing any inconvenience to the citizens. He also said that the officials should curb bogus voting, use of money/muscle power and other irregularities.
Around 8,000 polling stations and 2,500 polling locations are being established this time.
Additional Commissioner (Elections) Surendra Mohan, State Election Commission Secretary Ashok Kumar and senior officials from various heads of the departments have participated in the meeting. (INN)
