Ek Anaar Sau Beemar

Hyderabad, April 14 (Siasat News): There is a ration shop situated near Dargah Hazrat Mir Mahmood Qiblah (RA) at Attapur with registration of thousands of cardholders.

It is because of this that the economically backward Muslim women are facing a lot of difficulties. Just to get their daily needs, they are spending hours and hours in the long serpentine queue and that too under the scorching sun.

The opening time of the shop is actually 8 am but one can understand the trauma of the ration cardholders by this fact that they start queuing up in front of the shop immediately after namaz-e-fajr i.e. at least 2 hours before the shop actually opens.

Moreover, a few unfortunate women don’t get their ration even after spending hours and hours in the queue as by the time, they reach to the counter, many items which they needed, are either sold out or out of stock.

The insult to their injuries is the non-availability of any shed under which they could at least join the queue comfortably.

It is high time that Department of Civil Supplies should realize the agony of the cardholders and arrange to open two or three more ration shops to meet the requirements of the dense population of the area.

This step would definitely ease the trauma of long wait and cardholders would get the stuff without being told that there was no stock or items are sold out.
