Hyderabad, August 18: Eight nodal centres for screening of suspected swine flu cases were opened here today, an official said.
The centres received a total of 1,253 people, of which samples of 12 suspected cases have been sent for testing to the Indian Institute for Preventive Medicine, Dr Jaykumari, Hyderabad District Medical Officer, told PTI.
Two of the three previously confirmed H1N1 cases, under treatment at the AP Chest Hospital here, have been discharged, she said, adding the third patient was progressing well.
Meanwhile, the authorities, as part of drive to screen schoolchildren for swine flu, today covered 30 schools.
In the first phase, students of the government schools will be screened, while the second phase will cover private schools, Jaykumari said.
Medical teams today provided over 2,000 emergency kits to schools, she said.
