Kathmandu [Nepal]: A joint meeting of eight political parties including, the main opposition Communist Party of Nepal (UML) have decided to continue the House obstruction and intensify their protests until the Constitution Amendment Bill is withdrawn.
The meeting took place at the Singha Durbar-based CPN-UML’s Parliamentary Party office, reports the Kathmandu Post.
Following the meeting, UML Chief Whip Bhanubhakta Dhakal said that the meeting agreed to go with the House obstruction and other programmes of protests until the bill is taken back.
We are ready to extend all possible support to the government for holding the election if it is ready to withdraw the amendment bill, he added.
The meeting, stating that not only the opposition parties but also leaders from the ruling parties are dissatisfied with the amendment bill, demanded the government pull it back from the Legislature-Parliament.
The meeting was attended by eight parties including CPN-UML, CPN (ML), Rastriya Janamorcha, Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party (NWPP), Nepal Parivar Dal, Nepa Party, Janamukti Loktantrik Party and Madhesi Samata Party. (ANI)
