Eight killed in West Bengal road accident

Malda, January 23: At least eight people died on the spot and many others got injured after the bus in which they were travelling collided with a truck in West Bengal’s Malda District on Monday.

According to an eyewitness, the accident took place because of the carelessness of the truck driver.

“The incident took place when a truck coming from Balurghat ran over a bus, which was coming from Malda town,” said Majjamel Haque.

The injured were later rushed to the nearby Malda Hospital.

Meanwhile, the locals complained that the administration showed a careless behaviour as no official reached the spot on time, which added to the miseries of the victims.
